Personal Experience in Kota Kinabalu City

The reasons I am HERE ----  Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS)

These are the reasons why I am in Sabah. First of all, let me briefly introduce myself. I am UMS second year student, currently taking Mass Communication as my major program. I have access to Sabah 'Land Below The Wind', a really beautiful and favourable comparable with Paradise. I have been to few tourist destinations. One of them is "Kota Kinabalu Sabah City Excitement" where  I have shared on the previous post. Sabah has a lot of must-go and must-travel places. Now, I am going to share with you guys the 10 places I have been to.

1. Aquarium Marine Museum

It was my first time visited Aquarium Marine Museum in University Malaysia Sabah. I am pretty sure you will be attracted by the reef corals and fishes. It is open daily except Wednesday and Public Holidays (do take note so that you won't come at the wrong day :) besides that, outsiders will be charged Ringgit Malaysia 5 entrance fee and for UMS students, you have to show your Student ID in order to get free entrance.

My relatives came to Sabah during last semester. I  brought them to visit Aquarium Marine Museum. They had a nice experience visiting here, and of course spending their nights in Sabah. They are proud of me as a part of UMS.

2. City Mosque
City Mosque is the most beautiful mosque I have ever seen. We passed by this mosque when we were on our way to town and the taxi driver introduced to us this, one of the famous floating mosques in Malaysia. Other than that, this mosque was built in 2000. It has a prayer hall which houses three madrasahs and accommodates around 9, 000 to 12, 000 people at a time. I will take some of my spare time to visit this mosque before I graduate, a new year resolution, maybe?

3. Gaya Street (Sunday Market)
Gaya Street is similar to "Pasar Malam" in West Malaysia.  The reason why it is called Sunday Market is because it opens on Sunday, 0600 hours to 1300 hours. But, a friendly reminder to everybody, do bring along paper fan or cap as you will be spending the whole morning under the hot sun. I really enjoyed myself here though.

4. Jesselton Point Waterfront
Jesselton Point Waterfront is the only ferry terminal for Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park and Labuan-bound. I have been here when I returned back to KK from Labuan. It was a good experience. Besides that, there are handicraft stalls, Food and Beverages outlets, casual dining restaurants along the street.

5. Tanjung Aru Beach

I been there when I was my first year studies in Sabah. The picture was taken along the seaside with my course mates, during "Family day" organized by our second year seniors. We enjoyed ourselves there. The wind, the sea, the beach and the SUNNY day at Tanjung Aru Beach!

6. Handicraft Market

There are a lot of handicraft markets in Sabah. I bought a lot of pearls at the handicraft market as souvenirs during my first year studies.

7. Sabah State Museum

They are my relatives who came to visit me last semester. We spent around 2 hours at Sabah museum, there are a lot of antiques, whale specimens, ethnic cultural clothings, variety of musical instruments and animal specimen.

8. Puh Toh Tze Temple

It is a beautiful temple, a symbolize of Chinese people in KK. As you can see in the picture, there are 10 large statues standing tall at the main entrance to greet visitors.
